"Vikki is the best pestcontrol person we’ve ever had. She knows the pests inside and out: what their habits are and how best to combat them. She always lets us know what she’s doing and why, so we feel like we’re in a partnership to keep the place safe and clean."

Kristina McMillan

GILBERT, AZ

"We have used Blue Sky for over 10 years. Our biggest concern was scorpions when we first used them, as our neighborhood was infested with them and we had a baby. After using them, we had no activity, while our neighbors all had them. We have been with them since!"

Gilbert's Most Common Pest Threats

scorpion on a cactus

Scorpions

Spotting a bark scorpion around your home is enough to make anyone uneasy. Gilbert’s mix of block walls, irrigated landscaping, former agricultural land, and continued development creates plenty of places for scorpions to shelter and move around a property. Bark scorpions commonly hide in wall voids, landscape rock, irrigation areas, and other protected spaces around the home. Effective scorpion control means more than treating where scorpions are seen. Our technicians evaluate the conditions around your home that can support scorpion activity, then use targeted treatments and prevention strategies to reduce pressure around the property. Blue Sky 365 provides ongoing, year-round protection designed for Arizona homes, with follow-up service available if scorpion activity persists.

Ants

Ants

Ants have a way of showing up exactly where you don't want them — in kitchens, bathrooms and anywhere food or moisture is available. In Gilbert, ant activity is especially common in newer subdivisions and during the monsoon season, when changing conditions can drive colonies indoors in search of resources.

Not all ants behave the same way, which is why proper identification matters. Fire ants and carpenter ants are examples of species Gilbert homeowners may encounter, and each requires a different treatment strategy based on how and where they nest. That's why Blue Sky focuses on addressing the colony rather than simply treating the ants you can see. By targeting activity at its source, our ant control in Gilbert helps reduce recurring ant problems and provides reliable, long-term protection for your home.

Termites

Termites

In Gilbert, subterranean termite colonies are active throughout every neighborhood, which means even newer homes can be vulnerable to termite activity. That's why many homeowners choose proactive protection rather than waiting for visible signs of a problem. In East Valley communities, factors like irrigation, landscaping and soil conditions create environments that support termite activity year-round.

Blue Sky's termite control in Gilbert uses the Sentricon® System to target termite colonies at their source. Sentricon eliminates the colony itself rather than treating the soil around it, and it goes in without trenching, drilling, or tearing up your landscaping. Blue Sky is Arizona’s #1 Sentricon provider, with more stations installed and more active stations in service than any other provider in the state, as confirmed by Corteva.

Preventive Pest Control in Gilbert

So, what can you do as a Gilbert homeowner to prevent pests? Plenty. Keeping your home tidy goes a long way toward preventive pest control. Here are a few basics that provide a great foundation in keeping your home free of pests:

Leaky plumbing, standing water, and unused pools make it easy for pests to sustain life. Similarly, garbage bins not sealed correctly, dirty dishes, food on the floor, unsealed food in the pantry, and pet foods left out can all be attractants to pests.

Make sure your doors and windows are properly sealed. Pipes and pluming entering the house should also be sealed. Vents and exhausts can be covered with wired mesh. These exclusion efforts further deter pests from entering your home.

Leaf piles, piles of dead grass, stacked cardboard, and stacked wood all create a desirable environment for pests. Keep things tidy, and you get rid of potential habitats for pests.

FAQs About Pest Control in Gilbert

Scorpions are most active in Gilbert during the warmer months, typically from spring through early fall. But because Arizona winters are relatively mild, bark scorpions don't always disappear when temperatures cool down. In some neighborhoods, especially those near desert preserves or newer developments, scorpion activity can continue throughout much of the year. That's one reason many homeowners choose year-round protection.

Several ant species are common throughout Gilbert, including fire ants, carpenter ants and odorous house ants. While they may look similar at first glance, each behaves differently and responds to different treatment strategies. Ant activity often increases during monsoon seasons, as changing moisture conditions encourage colonies to expand or seek new food and water sources.

Unlike many pests, termites don't follow a strict season in Arizona. Subterranean termite colonies can remain active year-round, even when there are no visible signs of activity. Homeowners are most likely to notice swarms during the warmer months of spring and summer, but because termites live and work underground, damage can occur at any time of year.

Yes. Blue Sky offers organic pest control options for Gilbert homeowners looking for a more natural approach to pest management. These treatments are designed for use in and around homes while still focusing on effective, science-backed pest control. Our team can help you determine whether an organic program is the right fit for your home and pest concerns.

Most Gilbert homes benefit from ongoing pest control rather than one-time treatments. Arizona's warm climate allows many pests to remain active throughout the year, and seasonal changes can bring new pest pressures as conditions shift. Regular visits from Blue Sky Pest help address pest activity early and provide more consistent protection for your home throughout every season.
